We are hoping you will join us as a Unpaid Academic Intern, Pharmacy and help shape the future of healthcare where you'll be an integral part of our Pharmacy Management team, helping to strive for excellence while we serve our member health with dignity, respecting the value and needs of each of our members through collaboration with our providers, community partners and local stakeholders. This position has been approved to be Full Office.

- If telework is approved, you are required to work within the State of California only and if Partial Telework, also come in to the Main Office in Orange, CA, at least two (2) days per week minimum.

The overall purpose and objective of the Intern is to gain work experience in the field prior to graduating. This is an opportunity to utilize and apply the skills and knowledge learned in the classroom setting and apply it in the workforce. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for handling department assigned projects, given a moderate degree of independence. You will frequently meet with supervisors to go over the status and progress of assignments.

The Advance Pharmacy Practice Experience at CalOptima Health will provide you with a broad overview of managed care pharmacy practice with additional opportunities for direct patient care experience through a variety of clinical service lines, including face-to-face or telephonic comprehensive medication reviews as a part of the OneCare in-house Medication Therapy Management program, telephonic targeted medication counseling and medication profile reviews for identified high risk patients as part of the Interdisciplinary Care Team rounds. You will also apply clinical knowledge obtained through didactic coursework to provide care to a large and diverse patient population in a managed care setting. Additionally, you will learn about the relationships managed care organizations have with the community pharmacy provider network, physician provider network and the Pharmacy Benefit Manager. Together, we are building a stronger, more equitable health system.

- Participates in meetings with the supervisor to go over status and progress of work.

- 5% - Completes other projects and duties as assigned.

- High school diploma or equivalent PLUS enrolled in an accredited and affiliated pharmacy school and in the process of completing the final year of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience.

- Our current hiring range is: Pay Grade: 301 - $47,840 - $64,584 ($23.00 - $31.0500).

- The final salary offered will be based on education, job-related knowledge and experience, skills relevant to the role and internal equity among other factors.
